Jason Blight starts the year with a bang

Towards the end of 2018, Rowan Alexander, Director of the Cape Town Northern Suburbs estate agency, Alexander Swart Property, commented that South Africa had in 2018 worked through many political 'uncertainties' but would in 2019 be facing factors which we now understand - and believe we can cope with.

At the start of this year, Alexander complemented this by saying that as a result of the improved outlook, the first signs of a growing confidence in the property market are now to be seen --  and, he predicted, the top agents in his company, who all had exceptionally good years in 2018, would this year be bettering all previous records.

One such agent who would agree with him is Jason Blight.  In 2018 he won the Alexander Swart Brand Ambassador award - and, on receiving it, promised to do even better this year.  Right now, he appears to be on track.  In January, normally a quiet month, he notched up four successful sales with a total value of R5,5 million and by 12th February had already signed up six new sole mandates with a value of R4,9 million.  He had also fielded two offers on other properties.

This sort of success does not come easy.  Jason has been on show house duty every weekend, but he has now appointed an assistant, Megan Pienaar, to help with administrative matters, to supervise pamphlet drops and to set up appointments for him.  Three weeks in each month he will, too, be running a full page advertisement in Die Tygerberger and one full page in Neighbourhood, the weekly property promotional guide which has a print order of 10 000 copies in the northern suburbs.

What can be predicted with complete confidence is that in house competition from at least five other top performing agents at Alexander Swart Property will make Jason's top position difficult to hold - determined though he is.

Watch this space:  a battle royal has begun and who knows who the eventual victor will be?  Rest assured, however, Jason is not in the least intimidated by his high quality competitors.
